Artist Overview
Lion is a multidisciplinary artist who tells stories through visual art. Rather than being confined to one medium, he allows each story to shape the form it takes. His practice explores narrative, memory, and human experience through installations, moving image, sculpture, and other visual forms. Traditional arts and folklore, particularly from Indonesian and Pakistani contexts, remain an important part of his work, grounding it in layered histories and storytelling traditions. Through his practice, Lion creates spaces for reflection, connection, and deeper ways of seeing.
Artistic Vision
Lion’s work centers on storytelling through visual form. Moving across sculpture, installation, projection, and image-making, his practice explores memory, atmosphere, and the emotional weight of narrative. Traditional arts and folklore remain important references, shaping works that invite reflection and layered interpretation.
Creative Process
Lion’s process begins with the story itself. Rather than committing to one medium, he builds each work through the materials and forms the narrative asks for. Research, sketching, construction, moving image, and spatial experimentation all play a role in developing immersive works that combine visual storytelling with texture, light, and form.
